Company Description Aashraya is a social impact initiative under PANHA that enables individuals to create meaningful change through compassionate action. The community partners with old age homes, orphanages, underserved communities, women’s safety initiatives, LGBTQ+ communities, and animal welfare organizations. Aashraya focuses on more than transactional volunteering by emphasizing listening, empathy, and consistent support to remind people they are not alone.
Volunteers can contribute by leading social impact projects, joining community efforts, and connecting with purpose-driven individuals. The mission is to make the world a better place together by turning kindness into practical, life-changing action.
Role Description This Human Resources Volunteer role is a remote, volunteer position supporting Aashraya’s growing community of volunteers and project leads. The volunteer will help coordinate onboarding processes, maintain volunteer records, and support communication between volunteers and project coordinators. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting with HR documentation, sharing and updating HR guidelines, supporting the implementation of easy HR policies,
and helping manage volunteer engagement and recognition initiatives.
The role also involves answering volunteer queries, helping organize remote training or orientation sessions, and collaborating with core team members to ensure a positive and inclusive volunteer experience.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of Human Resources (HR) and HR Policies, with an interest in applying them in a volunteer-driven, social impact environment.
- Ability to support HR Management and Personnel Management activities, such as coordinating onboarding and maintaining volunteer-related records.
- Understanding of Employee Benefits or volunteer benefits concepts and the ability to help communicate them clearly to community members.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Commitment to inclusion, respect for diverse communities, and alignment with Aashraya’s mission of kindness and social impact.
- Comfort using basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, online collaboration platforms); prior HR or volunteer coordination experience is beneficial but not required.
