RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Leadership & Vision

- Lead the academic vision and strategic direction for the Primary School
- (Grades 1–7)
- Ensure curriculum alignment with NEP 2020, international best practices, and progressive learning philosophies
- Design, review, and continuously refine curriculum frameworks, learning outcomes, and assessment systems
- Build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, communication, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding
- Drive inquiry-led, interdisciplinary, and project-based learning experiences
- Establish high standards of teaching, learning, documentation, and student achievement
- Ensure learning is meaningful, relevant, and connected to real-world contexts

Teaching & Learning Excellence

- Teach selected primary classes and model outstanding classroom practice
- Demonstrate inquiry-based, experiential, and differentiated instruction
- Support educators in creating rich learning invitations and provocations inspired by children's interests
- Strengthen literacy and numeracy through concept-led rather than rote-based approaches
- Promote visible thinking routines, student voice, and learner agency
- Ensure classrooms reflect joyful, engaging, and purposeful learning experiences
- Encourage outdoor learning, community-linked learning, and authentic project work

Atelier & Learning Environment Leadership

- Lead the philosophy and implementation of the Atelier approach across the Primary School
- Work closely with educators to use the environment as the third teacher
- Ensure classrooms and learning spaces are aesthetically meaningful, inquiry-rich, and intentionally designed
- Support the use of materials, documentation, natural resources,



and provocations that inspire exploration and creativity
- Build strong practices around pedagogical documentation and visible learning journeys
- Encourage expression through the hundred languages of children including art, movement, storytelling, construction, design, and reflection

Teacher Development & Mentoring

- Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-quality primary educators
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide developmental feedback
- Lead professional development programmes, coaching cycles, and academic workshops
- Build a reflective, collaborative, and growth-oriented teaching culture
- Support educators in observation-based planning and emergent curriculum design
- Mentor teachers in parent communication, classroom management, and progressive pedagogy

Parent & Community Partnerships

- Build strong and trusting relationships with parents through transparent communication
- Lead parent orientations, academic conversations, and curriculum workshops
- Address parent concerns with professionalism, empathy, and clarity
- Strengthen community participation and parent volunteer engagement
- Represent the school in academic forums, conferences, and community events
- Foster a strong school-home partnership around child development and wellbeing

Student Wellbeing & School Culture

- Ensure a safe, inclusive,



and emotionally secure learning environment
- Promote child wellbeing, belonging, independence, and confidence
- Build a positive school culture rooted in respect, curiosity, and responsibility
- Support pastoral systems and interventions for student development
- Champion inclusion and differentiated support for diverse learners

Operations & Strategic Coordination

- Oversee academic planning, timetables, staffing, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with leadership on school growth, innovation, and expansion
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the Primary Section
- Maintain academic records, policies, reports, and compliance requirements
- Strengthen systems for curriculum documentation, assessment, and school review

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Education or a related field.
- PGCE, IB certification, or an equivalent international teaching qualification preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in primary education, ideally in progressive,

inquiry-based schools.

- Minimum 3–5 years in an academic leadership role (Coordinator / Head / Lead Teacher).
- Strong understanding of primary curriculum planning, pedagogy, and student development.
- Proven expertise in teacher mentoring, performance management, and academic leadership.
- Proficient in student-centred, activity-based, project-based, and differentiated teaching methodologies Excellent classroom management, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Robust command of spoken and written English and confidence in parent communication and school representation.
- Comfortable using educational technology and digital learning tools.
