Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical with 12–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering design for large-scale industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical design and engineering activities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing engineering deliverables, and ensuring timely and quality execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute mechanical design and engineering activities for industrial/EPC/EPCM projects.
- Develop and review mechanical engineering deliverables including equipment specifications, datasheets, GA drawings, layouts, mechanical calculations, and technical documents.
- Prepare and review equipment and machinery specifications based on project requirements and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with process, civil & structural, piping, electrical, instrumentation, procurement, and project teams for integrated engineering deliverables.
- Review vendor drawings, technical offers, datasheets, and documents for mechanical equipment.
- Participate in technical evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable IS, ASME, API, ASTM, and other relevant standards/codes, as applicable to the project.
- Review equipment layouts and ensure proper access, maintenance clearances, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, clients, and site teams for technical clarifications and resolution of engineering issues.
- Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, erection, commissioning, and project execution.
- Identify design clashes, interface issues, and technical risks and ensure timely resolution.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and documents prepared by junior engineers/designers.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and design team members.
- Monitor engineering deliverables against project schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Participate in design review meetings, client discussions, and technical coordination meetings.
- Support preparation of project-specific engineering standards, design basis, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Ensure proper documentation, revision control, and adherence to project quality requirements.

Preferred Project Experience

Candidates with experience in industrial projects such as:

- Steel Plants / Steel Projects
- Power Plants
- Mining & Mineral Processing

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory.
- M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience & Technical Skills

- 12–15 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Strong experience in industrial/EPC/EPCM projects.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical equipment design/engineering and engineering documentation.
- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, conveyors, gearboxes, tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, material handling equipment, and other industrial equipment, depending on project requirements.
- Experience in reviewing vendor documents and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable international and Indian engineering standards.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Experience with engineering/design software will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of interdisciplinary engineering coordination.
