Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure Application Development Pre-Sales Architect to lead technical solutioning and pre-sales engagements for Microsoft Azure application development, modernization, and cloud transformation opportunities.

The ideal candidate will combine strong Azure application architecture and development expertise with excellent consulting, communication, and customer-facing skills. This role will work closely with sales, customers, delivery teams, and Microsoft stakeholders to understand business challenges, design compelling solutions, and support opportunities from discovery through proposal and closure.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting

Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand business requirements, application landscapes, challenges, and transformation objectives.

Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure application solutions.

Own the technical solutioning and architecture components of RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and statements of work.

Conduct customer presentations, architecture workshops, technical demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs.

Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities, develop account strategies, and build compelling technical value propositions.

Support effort estimation, solution costing, resource planning, and proposal development.

Develop technical presentations, architecture diagrams, solution proposals, POCs, and demonstrations.

Partner with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with implementation capabilities.

Azure Application Architecture

Design modern, scalable application architectures using Microsoft Azure.

Architect cloud-native, distributed,



microservices-based, API-driven, and event-driven applications.

Define application modernization strategies including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, and redevelopment.

Design solutions leveraging Azure services such as:

Azure API Management

Azure Service Bus

Azure Event Grid

Azure Event Hubs

Application Development & Modernization

Provide technical leadership for modernization of legacy applications into Azure.

Define application integration, API, messaging, security, observability, and DevOps strategies.

Design solutions using up-to-date development frameworks and technologies such as .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, microservices, containers, and React/Angular.

Evaluate existing applications and recommend appropriate Azure modernization approaches.

Develop proof-of-concepts and technical accelerators to demonstrate proposed solutions.

AI & Intelligent Applications

Identify opportunities to incorporate Azure AI and Generative AI capabilities into application solutions.

Architect applications leveraging services such as Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI services, and AI Search where appropriate.

Support development of AI-powered applications, copilots, intelligent automation, and RAG-based solutions.

Collaborate with data and AI teams to integrate AI capabilities into broader application modernization initiatives.

Security, DevOps & Governance

Incorporate Azure security, identity, networking, governance, and compliance considerations into application architectures.





Design solutions leveraging Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and related security capabilities.

Define CI/CD and DevOps strategies using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.

Apply cloud architecture best practices covering scalability, reliability, performance, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

Ensure proposed solutions align with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software architecture, application development, cloud architecture, consulting, or technical pre-sales.

7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure application services and cloud architectures.

Strong experience designing and presenting enterprise application solutions in customer-facing environments.

Strong knowledge of .NET/C#, APIs, microservices, containers, cloud-native development, and distributed systems.

Experience with application modernization and migration programs.

Strong understanding of Azure integration, databases, security, networking, monitoring, and DevOps.

Experience creating architecture diagrams, technical proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and solution presentations.

Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and consulting skills.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification or equivalent experience.

Experience with Azure AI / Generative AI / Azure OpenAI solutions.

Experience with Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, or broader Microsoft Cloud solutions.

Experience working with enterprise customers across industries.

Experience with Azure migration and application modernization assessments.

Experience developing POCs and technical demonstrations.

Familiarity with FinOps, Azure cost optimization, and cloud governance.

Experience working with Microsoft partner ecosystems and Microsoft field teams.
