Role & responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers through capability assessments and supplier audits.
- Conduct supplier qualification, process, and quality system audits to ensure compliance with customer and international quality requirements.
- Lead supplier quality activities throughout the project lifecycle, from supplier selection and project kick-off to final product delivery.
- Support suppliers during new product development and ensure process readiness before production.
- Review supplier quality documentation including FAI, PPAP, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), WPS/PQR (where applicable), inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Perform final part approval and authorize product release based on customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and European customers to resolve technical, quality, and project-related issues.
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance and drive supplier development initiatives.
- Handle customer complaints through structured root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and 8D closure.
- Conduct final product inspections prior to international shipment.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable international standards.
- Maintain Quality Management System documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Coordinate project execution activities with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and customer expectations are achieved.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance, quality, and operational efficiency.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- 10 - 12 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Project Quality & QMS.
- Solid knowledge of machining, fabrication, casting, and assembly processes.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, CAPA, and Quality Core Tools.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, and precision metrology.
- Experience in supplier audits, supplier development, and project coordination.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; excellent verbal and written communication in English is essential.
- Willingness to travel for supplier audits and development activities across India.
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is mandatory. VDA 6.3:2023 Process Auditor certification will be an added advantage.
