Are you a Java microservices expert who thrives on solving complex, high-impact production issues? We're looking for a Senior L3 Support Engineer to join a global team supporting a leading payments technology company.
? About the Role
As an L3 Support Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for troubleshooting escalated production issues, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring rock-solid service reliability across a modern, cloud-native microservices landscape — all while working cross-culturally with global teams to deliver quick, effective workarounds within SLA.
? Key Responsibilities
Analyze and resolve high-impact technical issues escalated from L2 support; propose functional workarounds
Monitor and diagnose system health using observability tools like Datadog and OpenSearch
Collaborate with engineering, operations, product, and vendor teams for coordinated issue resolution
Troubleshoot and support RESTful APIs, backend integrations, and microservices architectures
Build API automation test cases for validation
Support compliance-related incident resolution (PCI DSS, EMV)
Reproduce and report bugs, suggesting fixes to development teams
Manage multi-tenant deployments and resolve configuration/environment issues
Maintain the integrity of alerting and real-time notification systems
Own RCA documentation and keep runbooks up to date
? What We're Looking For
6+ years in application support/engineering, with 2–3+ years specifically in L3 support
Solid hands-on expertise in: – Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux – PostgreSQL, OpenSearch – REST APIs, Gloo API Gateway – Docker, Kubernetes – Kafka, GitLab, Argo CD – Postman, Karate – AWS Cloud Services
Proven ability to debug code, analyze logs, and drive RCA across distributed systems
Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring/observability tools
Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Solid grounding in ticketing workflows and SLA compliance using JIRA
Strong cross-cultural collaboration and communication skills
