Role & responsibilities
- Responsible for smooth functioning of the production section and achieving budgeted targets.
- Ensure achievement of production, yield, quality, safety and productivity KPIs.
- Monitor and improve process yield, glass yield and power consumption.
- Control rejection, rework and next-process claims; drive Zero Defect initiatives.
- Conduct Layered Process Audits, safety audits, 5S audits and process-wise audits.
- Drive TPM, TQM, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and OHSAS system requirements.
- Lead PDCA, Kaizen and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Monitor machine uptime, manpower productivity and process performance.
- Drive recent model development, feasibility studies, quality maturation and localization trials.
- Ensure timely closure of quality and safety audit findings.
- Monitor consumable consumption and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Manage manpower allocation, skill development, training and performance appraisal.
- Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, NMD, Projects, HR, Materials and suppliers.
- Conduct regular shop-floor, operator, improvement and section meetings.
- Promote operator participation in Kaizen and QC Circle activities.
