We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MS-SQL/DW to Snowflake (Azure) Migration Specialist to lead and execute complex data migration projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in traditional data warehousing principles, Microsoft SQL Server, and a proven track record of successfully migrating large-scale data warehouses to Snowflake within the Azure cloud ecosystem. This role requires a hands-on expert who can design, implement, and optimize robust data migration strategies, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security throughout the transition. You will be instrumental in transforming our data landscape, enabling advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the assessment of existing MS-SQL Server and data warehousing environments,



identifying data sources, schemas, dependencies, and potential migration challenges.
- Design comprehensive and effective data migration strategies from on-premise/legacy data warehouses to Snowflake, leveraging Azure data services for orchestration and data movement.
- Develop, test, and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or other relevant tools to extract, transform, and load data into Snowflake.
- Perform data modeling and schema conversion activities to optimize data structures for Snowflake's columnar storage and query performance.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration process, implementing reconciliation and validation procedures.
- Optimize Snowflake data warehouse performance post-migration, including query tuning, clustering, and micro-partitioning strategies.
