JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to handle the complete purchase and procurement activities for our men’s wear store. The candidate will be responsible for product sourcing, vendor development, price negotiation, purchase planning, quality control, and ensuring timely availability of merchandise across stores.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle purchase of men’s ready-made garments
- Identify and develop new manufacturers, wholesalers and suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors.
- Source new designs, styles, colours, fabrics and products according to current market trends.
- Conduct regular market visits to identify current products and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate product prices, margins, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Compare vendor quotations and select the best product based on quality, price and commercial terms.
- Prepare and process purchase orders after obtaining the required approvals.
- Plan purchases based on sales, stock levels, store requirements and seasonal demand.




- Coordinate with the Store, Warehouse, Merchandising and Operations teams for stock requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of purchased merchandise to the warehouse.
- Follow up with vendors regarding production, dispatch and delivery status.
- Monitor product quality, size, colour, finishing and quantity before accepting merchandise.
- Coordinate with vendors for replacement/return of defective, damaged or incorrect merchandise.
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain vendor records.
- Ensure purchase prices are competitive and within the approved budget.
- Analyze sales and stock movement to avoid overstocking and slow-moving inventory.
- Support management in developing new product ranges and seasonal collections.
- Maintain proper records of purchase orders, rates, vendor details and pending orders.
