Title: Robotics Systems Engineer, Embedded and Autonomous Systems

About the role

Waaree Autonova is building deployment-ready autonomous systems across multiple robotic platforms, including aerial systems, autonomous mobile robots, team-oriented robots (cobots), and special purpose robots developed for specific industrial use cases. We need someone who lives at the boundary between firmware and full-stack robotics someone who can take simulation-validated logic, write or adapt the embedded firmware that runs it, and get it working reliably on real hardware, closing the gap between clean simulated sensors and the messy reality of real-world sensing, actuation, and communication.

Core responsibilities

Develop and validate control, navigation, and coordination logic in simulation (Gazebo, SITL, or equivalent) before porting to real hardware Write, adapt, and debug embedded firmware (C/C++) for microcontrollers such as STM32 and ESP32, including peripheral drivers (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), interrupt handling,



PWM generation for motor/servo control, and bootloader/flashing workflows Port simulation-tested logic onto physical embedded hardware across different robotic platform types, including but not limited to aerial systems, ground-based mobile robots, cobots, and custom special purpose robots Design and debug the electrical interface between compute and actuation: motor drivers, ESCs, power distribution, level shifting, and signal integrity at the board level Perform sensor calibration, controller tuning, and state estimation tuning for real-world operating conditions Configure and troubleshoot localization and navigation systems (GPS, wheel odometry, visual or LIDAR-based localization, or equivalent depending on platform), wireless communication links, and failsafe behavior such as safe stop, geofencing, communication loss handling, and power management Bench test and field or lab test progressively
