Job Summary

Safety Officer needed for a plumbing and fire safety contracting firm to oversee site safety compliance, risk assessment, and EHS documentation across live project sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site safety inspections across plumbing and fire-fighting installation sites (residential, commercial, industrial projects)
- Ensure compliance with fire safety codes, NBC (National Building Code), and local fire department NOC requirements
- Monitor safe handling of pipes, welding/cutting equipment, pressure testing operations, and working-at-height activities
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inductions for site staff, plumbers, and fire safety technicians
- Maintain PPE compliance and safety documentation (permits, checklists, incident reports)
- Investigate near-misses and accidents; prepare corrective action reports




- Liaise with site supervisors and project managers to resolve safety hazards without delaying project timelines
- Coordinate with fire department/statutory authorities for inspections and certifications where required

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Safety Engineering, or NEBOSH/IOSH certification (preferred)
- 26 years of experience in construction site safety, ideally with plumbing, fire-fighting, or MEP contracting background
- Working knowledge of fire safety systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps) is a strong plus
- Familiarity with site-level risk assessment and PPE protocols
- Willingness to travel between multiple active sites
- Valuable communication skills to coordinate with a largely blue-collar, experienced workforce
