Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical systems across Coke Oven Battery, Pusher Car, Charging Car, Quenching Car, Transfer Car, CDQ system, By-Product Recovery systems, conveyors, fans, compressors, and substations.
- Ensure reliable performance of HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and lighting networks.
- Prepare and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules.
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical failures; implement corrective actions.
- Plan spare parts management, AMC contracts, equipment calibration, and maintenance documentation.
- Supervise electrical maintenance activities during shutdowns and major overhauls.
- Support electrical system installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
- Drive automation and modernization initiatives including Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), PLC/DCS integration.
- Prepare technical specifications and assist in vendor selection and procurement activities.




- Monitor power consumption and load distribution; implement energy-saving measures and conduct energy audits.
- Promote energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting and high-efficiency motors.
- Enforce electrical safety rules based on Indian Electricity Rules (IE Rules), IS standards, and plant SOPs.
- Implement Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), and arc flash protection procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of substations, cables, and electrical systems.
- Support compliance with ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 14001 (Workplace), and statutory inspections.
- Maintain updated Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), equipment manuals, and test records.
- Generate maintenance performance reports, power consumption reports, and downtime analysis.
- Track equipment history and spare parts consumption for cost control.
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Plan and manage shift rosters and manpower
