Design Engineer in the DC Motor Manufacturing industry is responsible for the end-to-end development of high-efficiency motors, ranging from fractional to large industrial machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Electromagnetic Design: Model and design magnetic components, including lamination stacking and stator winding configurations, using software.
- Mechanical Development: Create 3D CAD models and 2D detailed drawings for motor housings, shafts, and cooling systems.
- Simulation & Analysis: Conduct thermal, structural, and electromagnetic simulations (FEA/CFD) to validate performance before physical prototyping.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with production teams to optimize designs for ease of manufacture (DFM) and assembly.
- Validation: Define and oversee testing procedures for speed, torque, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all motor designs meet international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Software Proficiency:
- CAD: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PTC Creo.
- Simulation: ANSYS Maxwell/Motor-CAD, MATLAB/Simulink, or COMSOL.
