Job DescriptionSeeking an Aero Design & Development Engineer II who designs drones. The role focuses on the hands-on design and development of quadcopters and other multi-rotor UAVs, from concept through to a flying prototype. CFD or analysis skills are a bonus, but the main requirement is someone who understands drones and drone design.
NKey Responsibilities:

- Design quadcopters and other multi-rotor UAVs, including airframe layout and overall configuration. N
- Carry out the calculations to confirm the motors are suitable for the application and the propellers can generate the required lift. N
- Build, assemble, and iterate physical prototypes. N
- Optimise component placement and centre of gravity (CG);
integration is handled by the drone team. N
- Plan and carry out bench and flight tests, and tune the platform. N
- Document results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

nRequirements:

- 3 to 5 years in drone or UAV design and development. N
- Hands-on experience designing and building quadcopters or other multi-rotor platforms. N
- Positive understanding of drone subsystems: propulsion, power, airframe, and payload integration. N
- Ability to translate problem statements into a buildable drone design. N
- Comfortable with prototyping, assembly, and flight testing. N
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks is a must. N

nPreferred: CFD or aerodynamic analysis knowledge, knowledge of OpenFOAM, and experience with flight controllers such as PX4 or ArduPilot.
