About the team and the role:
eBay’s Global Indirect Tax team sits within a agile EMEA/APAC VAT/DST function based in Bangalore, supporting compliant and scalable growth across the marketplace. The team partners closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal to ensure VAT/DST requirements are embedded into systems and business models as regulations evolve across Europe,



the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
This role, VAT specialist – EMEA VAT, focuses on VAT and DST strategy, compliance, technology enablement, and risk management. It plays a key role in translating regulatory requirements into scalable solutions, supporting cross-border trade, and strengthening VAT/DST governance. The position based in Bangalore reports within the EMEA Indirect Tax team and contributes to global tax initiatives.

What you will accomplish:
- Support VAT compliance across EMEA by overseeing multi-jurisdictional requirements, including EU VAT Directive, UK VAT, OSS/IOSS, tax on services and deemed supplier rules
- Improve accuracy and scalability of VAT/DST processes by partnering with Accounting, Controlling, Product and Engineering to enhance tax determination, reporting, and data integrity
