Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IBM DB2 z/OS Administrator to provide expert operational support for enterprise mainframe database environments while leading automation modernization and disaster recovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM DB2 for z/OS, Rundeck automation, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and DB2 version upgrades. This role requires strong hands-on experience in database administration, automation, backup and recovery, workflow modernization, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day administration and operational support for IBM DB2 on z/OS environments.
Perform database refreshes, backup and recovery operations, and generate disaster recovery (DR) and recovery region (RR) dumps.
Conduct z/OS lifecycle assessments and ensure platform supportability and compliance.
Design, implement, configure,



and validate a backup Rundeck workplace on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Ensure seamless failover capabilities between primary and backup Rundeck environments.
Lead DB2 version upgrade activities, including readiness assessments, troubleshooting, testing, migration planning, and production cutover.
Reverse engineer existing Rundeck-to-z/OS workflows and modernize legacy automation processes.
Replace legacy Reflection-based automation scripts with scalable and maintainable automation solutions.
Manage Git repositories for automation code and version control.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Runbooks, technical documentation, and operational guides.
Perform security reviews, access validation, and compliance checks for automation environments.
Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and cross-training to internal support teams.
