Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Chinese Commi I to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, cooking techniques, wok operations, and food safety standards. The candidate will assist in preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Operate the wok station efficiently while maintaining speed and quality.
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Ensure proper preparation (mise en place) before service.
- Monitor food quality, taste, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO).




- Minimize food wastage and report shortages to the senior chef.
- Follow food safety and HACCP standards at all times.
- Support inventory management and stock requisitions.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Train and guide Commi II, Commi III, and kitchen helpers whenever required.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts (preferred).
- 1–4 years of experience in a Chinese kitchen as Commi I or Commi II.
- Knowledge of Chinese cuisine, sauces, soups, appetizers, noodles, rice, and wok cooking.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices.
