About the Role

Think Recycling refurbishes used laptops and desktops and returns them to sellable, reliable condition. We are looking for a senior L3 (chip / component-level) repair engineer who can diagnose and fix the complex board-level faults that L1/L2 technicians escalate and keep our refurbishment yield and turnaround high.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair laptop and desktop faults at L3 / chip level — motherboard, power/charging circuits, display, keyboard, ports, and connectors.
- Perform component and BGA-level rework (reballing, chip replacement) using rework stations, hot-air, soldering, and microscope.
- Read motherboard schematics and boardview files to trace and isolate faults.
- Test and diagnose using multimeter, DC power supply, and diagnostic tools; measure voltages and signals to pinpoint failures.
- Repair or replace faulty components — RAM, HDD/SSD, display panels, batteries, charging ICs, and connectors.
- Install and configure OS, drivers, and BIOS/firmware; run burn-in and quality-control tests before dispatch.




- Refurbish devices to grade — cleaning, part replacement, cosmetic touch-up, and final QC.
- Perform secure data wiping and follow data-security and e-waste handling procedures.
- Maintain repair logs, track spare-parts consumption, and update inventory records.
- Guide and support L1/L2 technicians on escalated repairs, and help maintain repair TAT and yield targets.

Requirements
- 5–8 years hands-on experience in laptop and desktop hardware repair, including L3 / chip-level motherboard repair.
- Strong BGA rework and soldering skills; confident with rework stations, hot-air, and microscope work.
- Able to read motherboard schematics / boardview and diagnose complex faults independently.
- Familiar with major laptop brands (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) and desktop hardware.
- Comfortable with OS installation, BIOS/firmware flashing, and hardware diagnostic tools.
- Positive grasp of components, spare parts, and refurbishment qua
