Role & responsibilities:
- Oversees all technical aspects of Radiation Oncology department, including supervision of physics, dosimetrists, and treatment planning services.
- Assures adequate physics and treatment planning services at sites under purview, assigns workplace and evaluates work of all physics personnel.
- Establishes and implements the specifications for acceptance testing, calibration and performance of all radiation simulation, radiation delivery, radiation measurement, treatment planning, QA software and associated equipment, and radiation doses to comply with all applicable regulatory, skilled and accreditation bodies. Establishes and ensures compliance with system Quality Management and Radiation Safety Program to accomplish these goals.
- Participates in both system wide and local quality assurance and other departmental leadership meetings and projects
- Serves as the point of contact for local leadership regarding quality, performance, and reporting for both technical and staffing aspects of physics and dosimetry within their departments.
