Role & responsibilities
- Lead the Customer Quality and Process Quality functions for the Alloy Steel business.
- Act as the primary interface for key customers on all quality-related matters.
- Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring timely resolution of customer complaints through structured methodologies such as 8D, RCA, CAPA, and Why-Why Analysis.
- Lead investigations on product failures and process deviations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Develop and deploy quality improvement strategies across SMS, Continuous Casting, Rolling Mill, Heat Treatment, and Finishing operations.
- Review and approve Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Mill Test Certificates (MTC), PPAP documentation (where applicable), and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Lead customer audits, third-party audits, certification audits, and quality assessments.
- Build strong relationships with OEMs, engineering customers, and export customers to improve customer confidence and business retention.




- Drive quality cost reduction initiatives by minimizing internal rejection, customer claims, and process variation.
- Establish and monitor Quality KPIs, including Customer PPM, COPQ, First Pass Yield, Process Capability, Customer Complaint Closure, and On-Time Quality Deliverables.
- Mentor and develop QA teams while fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Production, Metallurgy, R&D;, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure robust process controls and customer compliance.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (preferred), and other applicable quality management systems.

Preferred candidate profile
- B.Tech/B.E. in Metallurgical Engineering (Mandatory).
- 12 to 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the Alloy Steel/Special Steel industry.
- Proven leadership experience in Customer Quality and Process Quality.
- Robust understanding of Alloy Steel manufacturing processes, including EAF, LR
