Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will support the finance department by assisting with accounting tasks, managing financial records, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions. This role is crucial to maintaining the financial health of the construction company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing support for budgeting and cost management, particularly related to ongoing construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Accounting and Bookkeeping
- Assist with maintaining the company's financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Record and track all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting procedures.
- Assist in managing cash flow by tracking and reporting on income and expenses.




- Invoicing and Payments
- Process invoices from suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreed terms.
- Assist with the preparation of invoices for clients and customers based on project milestones or completed work.
- Help with processing payments and ensuring timely payment of bills and invoices.
- Project Costing and Budgeting
- Track and record costs related to construction projects, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Assist in preparing cost reports to track project budgets and expenditures.
- Work with project managers to update project cost estimates and ensure financial control over project budgets.
- Taxation and Compliance
- Assist in preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
