About the Role
We are an established real estate development firm in Mumbai actively executing residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a sharp, driven, and assertive In-House Legal Associate to join our team.
The primary mandate for this role is to quick-track outstanding payment recoveries from defaulting buyers, enforce strict contractual compliance under MahaRERA, draft legal notices within quick turnarounds, and oversee sub-registrar and regulatory procedures.
You will work closely with the leadership team and collaborate with our retainer Senior Legal Counsel on complex court/tribunal matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Default Tracking & Payment Recovery
- Audit buyer milestone payments daily and calculate interest on delayed installments per MahaRERA norms (SBI Benchmark Lending Rate + 2%).
- Draft and dispatch formal legal notices,



default warnings, and allotment cancellation letters to defaulting buyers within 24–48 hours of escalation.
- Handle firm, professional email correspondence and phone communications with buyers regarding overdue payments and contractual obligations.
- Negotiate structured payment timelines or out-of-court settlements with defaulting buyers while protecting the firm’s legal standing.

2. MahaRERA & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Sections 13, 18, and 19 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
- Manage the company’s MahaRERA portal filings, quarterly project updates, non-compliance notifications, and unit status records.
- Draft, verify, and file complaints, replies, or applications before MahaRERA Authorities and the Sub-Registrar.

3. Documentation & Field Execution
- Draft and review Agreements for Sale (AFS), Allotment Letters, Supplementary Deeds, Re
