Job Description for CNC milling operator

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and skilled CNC operator to handle programming, setup, and machining operations for CNC, VMC, HMC machines. The candidate will be responsible for developing machining programs, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality standards, and improving machine productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for VMC, HMC machines using CAD/CAM software
- Perform machine setup, prove-out, and process validation
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Select suitable tools, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality of machined components
- Optimize cycle time and improve production efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
- Coordinate with production, quality, and design teams for smooth operations
- Conduct machine trials and process improvements
- Maintain program backups, tooling records, and production documentation
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality,



and maintenance procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma / BE Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 310 years of experience in CNC/VMC/HMC/LMC programming and machining
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Haas, or Mazak controls
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Powermill, UG NX, or SolidCAM, SOLID WORKS, AUTOCAD
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds & speeds
- Ability to use measuring instruments like Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
- Good knowledge of precision machining and process optimization

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, tool room, heavy engineering, or precision manufacturing industries
- Knowledge of 3-axis / 4-axis machining operations
- Robust problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and achieve production
