We are seeking a senior backend engineer to build reliable monitoring, observability, and anomaly detection solutions for business-critical monetization systems.

This role focuses on designing scalable backend services that identify billing, data, and event-related issues before they impact customers or revenue.

You will contribute to a greenfield engineering initiative, shaping architecture, operational practices, and reliability standards from the ground up.

The position combines backend development, site reliability engineering, data analysis, and automation to solve complex technical challenges.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, finance, and operational teams in a highly distributed and asynchronous environment.

Accountabilities
The Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, and operate monitoring and anomaly detection capabilities that improve reliability, visibility, and operational excellence across monetization platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain backend solutions for monitoring, telemetry, alerting, and anomaly detection across critical systems.
- Develop metrics, logs, and tracing capabilities using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Build automated detection mechanisms for billing anomalies, data inconsistencies, event failures, and transactional issues.
- Create reconciliation processes and data integrity checks across usage, billing, and customer-related pipelines.
- Define and maintain service reliability practices, including SLOs, SLIs, operational dashboards, runbooks, and incident response processes.
