Job Summary:
A Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing blood from patients safely and accurately while ensuring patient comfort. They label, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards and maintain proper documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture, fingerstick, or heelstick techniques.
- Verify patient identity and explain the blood collection procedure.
- Label and process specimens accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment before and after procedures.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during or after blood collection.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory promptly.
- Maintain inventory of collection supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality.





Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or diploma in Phlebotomy (preferred or required depending on employer).
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping.
