Key Responsibilities

1. Boiler Operations
- Operate and monitor boilers to meet plant steam requirements.
- Maintain steam pressure, temperature and flow within prescribed limits.
- Monitor fuel consumption and improve combustion efficiency.
- Ensure proper feed water treatment and maintain water quality records.
- Coordinate boiler loading and switching during maintenance or peak demand.

2. Maintenance & Reliability
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance for boilers, pumps, burners, steam traps and related equipment.
- Attend breakdowns, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives to minimize downtime.

3. Statutory Compliance & Safety




- Ensure compliance with the Indian Boilers Act and IBR regulations.
- Coordinate boiler inspections and certification renewals.
- Maintain statutory records, logbooks, and inspection documents.
- Enforce safety practices such as LOTO, Permit to Work (PTW) and confined space procedures.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks and near-miss reporting activities.

4. Energy Management
- Monitor steam consumption and identify opportunities for energy savings.
- Implement projects related to condensate recovery, insulation, VFDs and heat recovery.
- Support energy management initiatives and reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly energy performance reports.
