Role & responsibilities
- Prepare the ENT Operation Theatre before each surgical procedure.
- Ensure availability and functionality of ENT surgical instruments, endoscopes, microscopes, drills, and other specialized equipment.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and OT team during ENT surgeries.
- Maintain strict aseptic and infection prevention protocols.
- Perform pre-operative verification, patient identification, and surgical safety checklist compliance.
- Position patients safely for ENT procedures and ensure proper padding and support.
- Handle surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and implants as per hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient condition during surgery and assist in emergency situations.
- Perform accurate sponge, instrument,



and needle counts before, during, and after surgery.
- Document intraoperative nursing care and maintain OT records.
- Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of ENT instruments after procedures.
- Coordinate with CSSD for sterilization and instrument availability.
- Report equipment malfunction or any patient safety incidents promptly.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental audits.
