We are looking to recruit a Teaching Fellow in Anatomical Sciences to join our committed and enthusiastic team of anatomists and technical staff in our goal to provide the highest quality student experience. This post is based at Southampton General Hospital in the Centre for Learning Anatomical Sciences (CLAS) which comprises a large Anatomical Sciences Laboratory. We are part of the School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education in the Faculty of Medicine and we have close interdisciplinary links with other members of the faculty and wider University.

is part of the larger Medical Education group within the Faculty of Medicine and we benefit from a resource-rich creative environment and the close proximity of our clinical colleagues.

Our principal role is to develop and deliver human anatomy teaching and learning for undergraduates. Teaching areas include gross anatomy, microanatomy, developmental anatomy and neuroanatomy. Members of academic staff also have curriculum management and development roles in the Faculty and wider University.

Anatomy is taught through prosected specimens which we create in house through the generous donation of members of the public. Our catchment area for donations is the South East of England. Central to our method of delivery is a student-centred approach providing students with a resource-rich workplace in which to study. Students undertake a range of activities using high quality bespoke prosected specimens, plastinated and museum specimens, plastic models, bones, imaging material and eLearning packages.
