Job Summary

The Senior Cashier is responsible for overseeing all cashiering activities, ensuring accurate billing, cash handling, and excellent customer service. The role includes supervising cashier operations, maintaining cash accuracy, resolving billing issues, supporting daily store operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Key ResponsibilitiesCashiering & Billing
- Process customer transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Accept cash, credit/debit cards, digital payments, gift vouchers, and other approved payment methods.
- Ensure accurate invoicing, billing, and receipt generation.
- Handle returns, exchanges, refunds, and cancellations in accordance with company policies.
- Balance cash drawers and reconcile transactions at the beginning and end of each shift.

Cash Management
- Maintain accurate cash records and ensure zero or minimal cash shortages/overages.
- Prepare daily cash reports and deposit summaries.
- Coordinate cash deposits with finance or authorized personnel.
- Safeguard cash, receipts,



and confidential financial information.

Team Leadership
- Supervise and support cashier staff during daily operations.
- Train recent cashiers on POS systems, billing procedures, and customer service standards.
- Monitor cashier performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Assist the Store Manager in scheduling cashier shifts when required.

Customer Service
- Provide courteous, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Resolve customer billing inquiries and payment-related concerns promptly.
- Ensure a smooth checkout experience and minimize customer waiting time.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

Operational Support
- Coordinate with sales staff, inventory, and warehouse teams for smooth order processing.
