Position Overview

The Marine & Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned vessels. The role involves coordinating with internal departments, vessel owners, charterers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth voyage execution, regulatory compliance, and timely communication of operational matters.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:
- A degree or diploma in Shipping Studies, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline, or seagoing experience as an officer on tankers, or relevant experience in ship operations.
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Sound knowledge of the shipping and maritime industry.
- Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and perform effectively within a team workplace.

Key Responsibilities

The Marine & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:




- Maintaining a thorough understanding of the capabilities and operational limitations of the vessels assigned.
- Coordinating with the Responsible Team and ensuring all relevant departments, including Operations, Technical, Crewing, Marine, Vetting, and Commercial, are kept informed of vessel movements, voyage orders, and operational developments.
- Monitoring voyage orders and consulting with the Senior Ship Operator or Operations Manager regarding any operational abnormalities or concerns.
- Monitoring cargo operations to ensure vessels only carry cargoes for which they are certified and operationally capable.
- Coordinating tank cleaning requirements, when necessary, in consultation with the Marine Department, Technical Department, and Senior Ship Operator.
- Monitoring trading areas and arranging additional insurance coverage, where required, through the Insurance & Claims Department for operations involving International War Zones (IWL), High-Risk Area
