Role & responsibilities

The Mould Designer is responsible for the complete design and development of tooling for Injection mold processes , including Hot Runner mold, Cold Runner Mould, and 2/3 Plate Mould. This position requires deep

expertise in Mould design principles, CAD/CAM systems, Mould flow, and manufacturing feasibility. The primaryobjective is to deliver manufacturable, durable, and costeffective injection Mould solutions that meet customer &production; requirements.The role works closely with NPD, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Toolroom teams, supporting Recent Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through tool trial sign-off (T0/T1/T2) and contributing to continuous improvement of existing Mould. This position works independently after project assignment.

1.Design complete 2D/3D tooling packages for Injection Mould, HRS , and associated Mould (2 plate, 3 plate, cold runner, Hot Runner) using CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks / NX / AutoCAD). Develop Cavity layouts, determine core/cavity material, sliders and ejection system, material

shrinkage,



and optimize material utilization. Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, GD&T; requirements, and production standards. Measured by first-trial tool approval rate and absence of design-related rework.

2.Support NPD mold trials (T0/T1/T2) and tool qualification activities from design stage through production sign-off. Review trial samples, perform defect analysis (Burn mark, jetting, flow mark, flash, shade issue, dimensional deviations), and implement design corrections. Prepare tool trial reports and PPAP-related tooling documentation. Measured by first-time qualification and on-time NPI milestone achievement.

3.Conduct DFM/DFA reviews for new product designs; advise manufacturing engineers on plastics

material shrinkage , material grade selection (Engineering material), and production feasibility. Provide cost-reduction recommendations prior to design freeze. Measured by number
