Business Project Director is a senior leader responsible for planning, governing, and delivering major business projects or programs, ensuring they achieve strategic goals on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Role Purpose

The Business Project Director translates high‑level strategic objectives into concrete programs and oversees multiple large projects so that all workstreams stay aligned with commercial, operational, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic project leadership
- Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics for major business projects and programs.
- Ensure every project is clearly linked to the company’s strategy and has a solid business case.
- Portfolio and governance
- Oversee a portfolio of related projects, set priorities, and manage interdependencies and constraints.
- Establish governance structures (steering committees, decision forums) and ensure effective reporting and escalation.
- Planning and execution




- Approve and challenge detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Monitor progress against milestones, manage major risks and issues, and drive corrective actions when needed.
- Stakeholder and change management
- Engage senior executives, functional leaders, and external partners to secure sponsorship and alignment.
- Lead change management: communication, training, and adoption to ensure current processes, systems, or models are embedded in the business.
- Financial and performance management
- Own or co‑own project P&L;, budget control, benefits tracking, and overall ROI.
- Review performance data regularly and adjust scope, priorities, or design to protect value delivery.
- Team leadership
- Lead project managers and cross‑functional teams, providing direction, coaching, and support.
- Set standards for project management practices and help improve methods, tools, and ways of working.
