Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling all cash, card, UPI, and other payment transactions related to patient billing. The role ensures accurate collection of payments, issuance of receipts, daily cash reconciliation, and compliance with hospital financial policies while providing courteous service to patients and their attendants.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect payments from patients for OPD, IPD, diagnostics, pharmacy, and other hospital services.
- Generate receipts and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Process payments through cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, cheques, and other approved payment modes.
- Verify billing details before accepting payments.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation and prepare end-of-day cash reports.
- Deposit collections as per hospital policies and coordinate with the Finance team.
- Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Address patient queries related to billing and payment professionally.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial and patient information.
- Coordinate with the Billing, Finance, Front Office,



and Insurance teams for smooth operations.
- Report any discrepancies or irregularities immediately to the reporting manager.
- Follow hospital SOPs, statutory requirements, and internal audit guidelines.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) preferred.
- Graduation in any discipline may also be considered.

Experience
- 25 years of experience as a Cashier, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Freshers with relevant knowledge may be considered based on organizational requirements.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of billing and cash handling procedures.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and hospital billing/HIS software.
- Solid numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
