As Agri-Efficiency Specialist, s/he will be responsible for designing and deploy techno-

economically feasible solutions on improving the water use efficiency in Agriculture

S/he will be

responsible for providing technical leadership in designing BCC & Training strategies and also

provide support to the local operations team in operationalization of the same

District and State Government

School of Climate Sciences team

Qualifications

Post-Graduation in Agriculture or related relevant field from a recognized university

Minimum 7 years of experience in designing, and direct implementation of agriculture

related development projects while working with District/State level Government officials

Competencies Positive operational understanding of development/social sector related programmes

Able to translate strategic direction into implementable plans for delivery on ground

Strong understanding on Agriculture, horticulture, Agro-forestry practices

Irrigation and

nutrient requirement for popular crops in India

Ability to influence diverse actors government, civil society and communities;

Strong writing abilities and communication capacity

Logical and analytical thinker

Excellent people skills and proven ability to work as an effective team member

Ability to travel within rural areas

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

a

Design and pilot of water use efficiency models in agriculture sector, design the community needs

assessment framework, research best practices available in the sector

b

Writing and proving technical assistance for communication materials including case studies,

development stories, reports, training manuals etc

a

Ensuring on time and right delivery of project commitments

b

Monitoring and evaluation of key indicators and project deliverables

Training and Capacity Building

a

Organize capacity building and training sessions for farmers in project area

b

Organizing dissemination workshops, meetings, special events, etc

a

Liaise with Govt departments and PRIs for ensuring logistical support and approvals if any

b

Identification of Potential partnership opportunities with other NGOs working in the space
