Role Overview:
The HSE Executive is responsible for executing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, ensuring statutory compliance, and maintaining safe working conditions within the factory or facility workplace. Implement site HSE programs, risk assessments, inspections and emergency preparedness in alignment with client and legal requirements.
The role focuses on implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections and audits, tracking HSE activities, maintaining documentation, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement. The position also assists in risk assessments, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and internal/external audits.
Maintain HSE documentation, incident reporting and closure tracking; promote safety culture on shopfloor and offices.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Operations & Compliance
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across factory/FM/property management sites.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national HSE laws, regulations, and applicable standards.
- Maintain and update MSDS, permits, registers, compliance records, and statutory documentation.
- Manage MSDS, chemical inventory and waste compliance in coordination with soft/technical teams.
Internal & External Audits
A. Internal HSE Audits
- Conduct periodic internal audits aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Perform monthly safety inspections across production areas.
- Conduct contractor safety audits.
- Evaluate compliance with ABB global HSE standards.
B.
External Audits
- Coordinate third-party certification audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Support customer HSE audits.
- Facilitate insurance risk inspections.
- Coordinate government inspections.
Incident Management & Reporting
- Lead investigations for accidents, near misses, environmental incidents, and unsafe conditions.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Implement corrective actions.
Environmental Management Reporting
- Monitor emissions, waste generation, water usage, and energy consumption.
- Track hazardous material storage and disposal.
Risk Assessment & Safety Programs
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Maintain risk registers.
- Review Method Statements and Permit-to-Work systems.
Training & Competency Records
- Develop annual HSE training plan.
- Conduct safety inductions for employees and contractors.
- Organize emergency drills.
Coordination & Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with external auditors, government authorities, and statutory bodies during inspections and certifications.
- Provide periodic updates, reports, and inputs to management regarding HSE performance and compliance status.
- Support Safety Committee meetings and follow up on action points.
Environmental Management
- Monitor waste disposal, pollution control activities, and sustainability practices in line with environmental norms.
