About the Role

We are looking for an experienced X# (XSharp) Developer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and modernizing enterprise business applications.

X# is an open-source .NET language designed as a direct migration path from Visual Objects (VO) . It is currently the target platform for Bradbury Phillips International applications. The successful candidate will work on the existing X# codebase while contributing to the company's longer-term modernization roadmap, including the eventual transition toward C# and ASP.NET Core .

This is a high-priority role for a developer who can work independently within a mature codebase, understand complex business logic, support customer requirements, and proactively contribute to product improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications built using X# (XSharp) .
- Support and contribute to Visual Objects (VO) to X# migration activities.
- Work with SQL Server , including complex queries, schema management, stored procedures, and database troubleshooting.
- Develop both core product roadmap features and customer-specific/bespoke functionality.
- Design and develop new reports, including reports using Stimulsoft where applicable.
- Provide 2nd-level technical support through the JIRA ticket management portal.
- Analyze customer issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare simple software design specifications for internal change requests and paid customer requests.




- Understand and work effectively within a complex, mature codebase with limited existing documentation.
- Document technical solutions, functionality, workflows, and relevant areas of the codebase.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve application workflows, usability, and UI.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the organization's ongoing modernization and technology migration initiatives.
- Support the eventual evolution of applications toward C# and ASP.NET Core .

Required Skills & Experience

- Demonstrable professional experience developing applications using X# (XSharp) .
- Experience with Visual Objects (VO) and/or VO-to-X# migration is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the .NET runtime and .NET ecosystem .
- Strong SQL Server skills, including:
- Complex SQL queries
- Database schema management
- Stored procedures
- Data troubleshooting and optimization
- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise or business applications .
- Ability to understand complex business logic and work effectively with an established/mature codebase.
- Experience handling production issues and providing second-level application support .
- Experience working with JIRA or similar ticket/support management systems.




- Ability to create transparent, simple software design specifications .
- Ability to independently deliver both product roadmap and customer-specific development work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and suggest system, workflow, and UI improvements.

Preferred Domain Experience Experience working on any of the following types of business applications is highly preferred:
