ROLE OBJECTIVE To lead the design, development, modernization, and delivery of enterprise-grade digital platforms for Bajaj Capital's financial services ecosystem. The VP Engineering will convert business priorities into secure, scalable, high-performing technology solutions while building engineering discipline across architecture, delivery, QA, DevOps, automation, and production support.

ROLE SUMMARY

- Own end-to-end engineering execution across requirement analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, production rollout, and platform support.
- Partner closely with business, product, operations, compliance, infrastructure, and security teams to define roadmaps and deliver technology outcomes.
- Lead modernization of legacy systems through cloud-native architecture, APIs, microservices, DevOps, automation, observability, and secure engineering practices.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams while establishing strong governance, release discipline, sprint discipline, and stakeholder communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Business & Technology Leadership

- Partner with senior business leaders and product stakeholders to understand strategic and operational requirements.
- Define technology roadmaps aligned to business growth, customer experience, operational efficiency, and compliance needs.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across applications, platforms, workflows, integrations, and enterprise systems.
- Present technology plans, delivery updates, risks, investment needs, and trade-offs to leadership stakeholders.

Engineering & Solution Architecture

- Define scalable, secure, high-availability architectures for enterprise financial services platforms.
- Lead architecture reviews, technology selection, integration strategy, modernization planning, and platform design.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native practices, microservices, API-first design, event-driven systems, automation, and DevOps.
- Ensure standards for performance, scalability, maintainability, security, resilience, observability, and code quality.




- Oversee integrations with internal systems, third-party financial platforms, CRM, transaction systems, data systems, and regulatory platforms.

Team Leadership & Delivery Management

- Build, mentor, and lead engineering teams across backend, frontend, QA, DevOps, architecture, and support.
- Establish Agile delivery rhythms, sprint planning, prioritization, estimation, release governance, and delivery tracking.
- Drive timely delivery of multiple concurrent programs and strategic technology initiatives.
- Create engineering dashboards and review mechanisms covering velocity, quality, incidents, release stability, and productivity.

Risk, Security & Compliance

- Ensure applications comply with BFSI security, audit, governance, data privacy, and regulatory expectations.
- Drive secure coding, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, incident response, access controls, and operational resilience.
- Ensure awareness and implementation alignment with applicable RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, cybersecurity, and data protection frameworks.

AI-Led Engineering Productivity

- Use AI tools and engineering automation to improve development velocity, QA coverage, documentation, testing, and deployment reliability.
- Identify practical AI/ML, workflow automation, analytics, and data engineering opportunities within enterprise technology delivery.

CANDIDATE PROFILE / PROFILE FOR SUCCESS

- A senior engineering leader who is hands-on enough to question architecture and technical choices, but mature enough to build systems, teams, and governance rather than just code.
- Should have led enterprise-scale platforms, preferably in BFSI or fintech, with exposure to customer-facing apps, CRM, KYC/onboarding, transaction systems, servicing platforms, and data integrations.
- Must be comfortable working with business-first stakeholders and translating commercial priorities into technology roadmaps, delivery plans, and scalable platforms.
- Should bring strong communication, ownership, urgency, execution discipline,



and the ability to manage internal teams, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional dependencies.

Hands-on understanding of AWS/GCP, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, observability, release management, and production support.

Data & Scalability

Strong knowledge of databases, data architecture, system performance, reliability engineering, scalability, and optimization.

Leadership

Proven people leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, Agile governance, vendor management, budgeting, and technology planning capabilities.

Domain

Strong BFSI exposure preferred: wealth management, lending, insurance, broking, investment platforms, digital onboarding, KYC, CRM, and servicing systems.

POSITIVE-TO-HAVE

- Experience in financial services digital transformation, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity governance, analytics platforms, AI/ML platforms, workflow automation, or data engineering ecosystems.
- Exposure to fintech ecosystems and enterprise tools across onboarding, CRM, transaction processing, customer servicing, compliance, and reporting.
- Certifications in Cloud, Agile, TOGAF, PMP, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture will be an advantage.

EDUCATION B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / MBA (Systems/IT) or equivalent technical qualification preferred. Candidates with exceptional engineering leadership experience and a proven enterprise delivery track record may also be considered.
