Role Overview

As the Backend Architect, you will serve as the technical lead with end-to-end ownership of all backend systems—spanning microservices architecture, API design, deployment, reliability, and technical mentorship. You will define the technical roadmap, build scalable distributed services to support millions of concurrent users, and lead engineering standards across backend squads.



This role is part of a high-growth vertical build, requiring strong hands-on ownership, execution, and comfort with rapid iteration.

Key Responsibilities

System & Microservices Architecture: Define service decomposition, inter-service communication protocols, failure-isolation strategies, and high-throughput/low-latency APIs.
Distributed & Event-Driven Systems: Design scalable async workflows, real-time event-driven pipelines (Kafka), and integrate AI/ML inference services and public/third-party APIs.
Database & Data Strategy: Lead schema design and database trade-offs across relational (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB/DynamoDB), and in-memory caches (Redis).
Reliability & Performance Engineering: Set SLAs/SLOs, circuit breakers, graceful degradation patterns, and performance limits.
DevOps & Observability Standards: Drive Kubernetes-based deployment topologies, service mesh governance, CI/CD automation, and distributed tracing/alerting s
