Brief Summary:
The Business Development Engineer is responsible for growing sales of Edmund Optics Marketplace products within an assigned region. The role focuses on selling standard catalog products offered through the Edmund Optics Marketplace, including products from third-party suppliers that Edmund Optics carries for its customers.
This person will be the main Marketplace sales contact for customers in the assigned region. The role involves regular field visits to existing and potential customers,



understanding what they need, recommending suitable products, preparing and following up on quotations, and converting opportunities into sales.
This is a junior-to-mid-level field sales role for someone who is customer-focused, organized, willing to learn technical products, and comfortable spending significant time meeting customers and developing business in the region.

Essential Functions:
Marketplace Product Knowledge and Customer Support:
Build practical knowledge of Edmund Optics Marketplace standard catalog products and the third-party products carried by Edmund Optics
· Understand the main features, uses, pricing, availability, and customer benefits of Marketplace products

Work with internal teams to obtain product, pricing, delivery, and technical information needed to support customers
Respond to customer questions and help customers identify suitable products for their requirement
