About the job
About the Role
Astral is a Shopify app company based in Kochi, India and we’re looking for someone who can make sure customers understand what we build and how to use it.
This is not a blog or SEO writing role.
You’ll own product documentation, Help Center articles, feature walkthroughs, and short educational videos. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to turn new features into transparent, useful content that customers can understand and act on.
What You’ll Do
Write and maintain high-quality product documentation
Create step-by-step Help Center articles for new features
Record short 2–5 minute product walkthrough videos
Explain features through screen sharing and, occasionally, on camera
Create screenshots, GIFs, and other visuals where useful
Work with Product and Engineering to understand new releases
Explore and test features independently before documenting them
Keep existing documentation accurate and up to date
Identify documentation gaps and features customers may not know about
Help reduce repetitive product questions coming to Support
What We’re Looking For
Excellent written and spoken English
Strong technical or product writing skills
Ability to explain complex features simply
Comfortable speaking on camera and recording screen shares
Strong product curiosity and attention to detail
Ability to learn SaaS products independently
Comfortable working with Product and Engineering teams
Familiarity with SaaS, APIs, integrations, workflows, or AI products
Bonus
Experience with B2B SaaS, Intercom, Shopify, GitBook, Mintlify, Notion, Loom, Help Centers, or customer support software is a plus.
What Good Looks Like
When we launch a new feature, you should be able to understand it, document it, record a clear walkthrough, and publish the content with minimal hand-holding.
We like the clarity and quality of documentation from products such as Intercom, Shopify, Stripe, and Slack.
