Responsibilities
Lead, coach and support a team of Software Engineers in the development and maintenance of technology products
Working with Product Management, develop the long-term strategy for your team and translate it into achievable goals
Understanding how all architectural elements of the software ecosystem work together and develop engineering and testing approaches that fit the overall strategy
Push for decisions to be made effectively and remove blockers that impede team progress. Drive team goals forward by organising the team’s work and setting appropriate milestones.
Deliver regular updates within the team and to leadership
Build an excellent relationship with relevant colleagues (engineering, product, design, data, etc) to deliver collaboratively and align on key strategic decisions.
Proactively escalate issues in a timely manner with delivery to appropriate colleagues
Foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
Empower engineers to achieve a high bar of engineering excellence in their work, creating space for testing, automation, observability, documentation and other significant concerns.
Partner with senior engineers in your area to drive technical initiatives that raise the bar for our engineering practices.
