Navallance Recruiters is hiring on behalf of a valued client for an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical management and performance of oil tankers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for vessel reliability, maintenance, regulatory compliance, technical planning, and operational readiness while working closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, vessel teams, Class, Flag authorities, and technical service providers.

Key Responsibilities• Manage the technical performance and maintenance of assigned oil tankers.

- Provide shore based technical support and guidance to Masters and Chief Engineers.
- Monitor Planned Maintenance System activities and ensure timely completion of maintenance, repairs, and surveys.
- Review vessel defects, machinery breakdowns, technical reports, and corrective actions.
- Plan and coordinate dry docking, repairs, surveys, and major maintenance projects.
- Monitor compliance with Class, Flag, statutory, and company requirements.
- Coordinate with Class, Flag authorities, manufacturers, shipyards, contractors, and technical service providers.
- Review machinery performance, fuel consumption, maintenance records, and technical reports.
- Investigate technical failures and incidents and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare, monitor, and control technical budgets and maintenance expenditure.
- Ensure availability of critical machinery spares and technical supplies.
- Participate in vessel inspections, audits, and tanker vetting activities when required.
- Monitor the overall technical condition and operational readiness of assigned vessels.
- Support vessel acquisitions, handovers, and technical evaluations when required.

Mandatory Requirements• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Technical Superintendent.

• Proven experience managing oil tankers is required.





- Strong knowledge of marine machinery, vessel maintenance, and technical ship management.
- Proven experience in dry docking, repairs, surveys, inspections, and maintenance planning.
- Good understanding of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class, Flag, and statutory requirements.
- Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems and maritime ERP systems.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel to vessels, shipyards, and ports when required.

Preferred Qualifications• Previous sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Senior Engineering Officer will be an added advantage.

- Experience with oil tanker vetting and inspections will be an advantage.
- Experience with tanker technical operations and industry best practices.
- Relevant Chief Engineer CoC or marine engineering qualification.
