Location: Mumbai
Experience: 4 to 9yrs

1. Role Overview
Provide L2 network support for Juniper-based infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Firewall)
Handle advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and incident resolution
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network environment

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Network Operations & Support
Manage and support Juniper devices (MX, EX, QFX, SRX series)
Perform configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of routers/switches/firewalls
Handle L2 incidents, service requests, and problem tickets
Work with L1 for escalation and coordinate with L3 for complex issues [linkedin.com]
B. Troubleshooting & Incident Management
Perform advanced troubleshooting of network issues (routing, switching, firewall, VPN)
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
Ensure incident resolution within SLA timelines
C. Configuration & Change Management




Implement network configuration changes (VLAN, routing, subnetting, ACLs)
Execute standard changes as per CAB / SOP
Participate in firmware upgrades, patching, and DR drills
D. Monitoring & Performance Optimization
Monitor network using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG
Analyze performance metrics and optimize network throughput
Maintain uptime and network health
E. Security & Compliance
Configure and manage firewall policies (Juniper SRX)
Ensure security through VPN, ACLs, and filtering rules
Monitor and respond to network security events
F. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain:
Network diagrams
Configuration backups
SOPs / Knowledge base
Provide incident reports, RCA, and audit compliance documentation

3. Technical Skills Required
Core Networking
Solid knowledge of:
TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP
Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, Static)
Switching (VLAN, STP, trunking)
