Role Description The Team Lead – NZ Accounting is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing a portfolio of New Zealand clients and guiding a team of accounting professionals. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and finalizing financial statements, managing tax compliance, and ensuring accurate accounting records in line with NZ regulations and standards. The role involves supervising workflow, mentoring team members, and coordinating deadlines to deliver timely, high-quality reporting.

The team lead will also communicate directly with clients, provide advisory input on financial and tax matters,



and identify opportunities to improve processes and client outcomes. Collaboration with internal stakeholders, maintaining documentation, and monitoring changes in accounting and tax legislation are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

- Strong accounting and finance skills, including experience with NZ Accounting standards and practical Finance knowledge.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and accurate Financial Reporting for small to medium businesses.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven recommendations.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; qualified certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is an advantage.
- Experience in leading or supervising accounting teams, with the ability to manage workloads and coach team members.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand tax and regulatory requirements, including compliance for SMEs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to clients.
- Comfort working remotely, with solid time management, attention to detail, and proficiency in cloud-based accounting software and collaboration tools.
