Role Description This is a full-time, on-site System Administrator role based in Kolkata.

The System

Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure services. The role includes monitoring system performance, managing backups, applying updates and patches, and ensuring security best practices are followed. Daily activities also involve diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, providing technical support to internal teams, and coordinating with vendors or service providers when needed.

Administrator will collaborate with developers and other IT staff to support deployment processes, improve reliability, and optimize system efficiency.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server setup, OS configuration, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues.
- Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, including basic routing, switching, firewalls, and network monitoring.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Information Technology concepts, including security, backup, and performance optimization.
- Relevant experience with Linux/Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud services is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python) is an advantage.
- A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
