Fund Manager – Emerging Companies, SME IPO & Pre-IPO

We are currently working with a leading independent investment firm is looking to appoint an experienced Fund Manager to join its Asset Management platform.

The role will focus on India-focused SME, pre-IPO, IPO anchor and emerging-company investments, with responsibility across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and underwriting through to portfolio construction, trading and exits

The successful candidate will be based in India working remotely, or have the option to relocate to the UAE.

Key responsibilities:

- Originate proprietary SME, pre-IPO, IPO anchor and listed small-cap opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchant bankers, investment banks, brokers and company promoters
- Lead fundamental research, financial modelling, valuation and investment due diligence
- Evaluate governance, promoter quality, financial quality and transaction structures
- Negotiate valuations, allocations and transaction terms




- Make Investment Committee recommendations and manage high-conviction portfolios
- Actively manage post-listing positions and exit decisions
- Contribute to investor communications and portfolio reporting
- Mentor junior investment professionals

Ideal profile:

- 15–20+ years' relevant investment experience
- Strong background in Indian public equities, investment banking, merchant banking, PMS/AIF/fund management, pre-IPO investing or institutional broking
- Demonstrable experience across SME IPOs, Mainboard IPOs, pre-IPO transactions or emerging-company investments
- Established network across merchant bankers, investment banks, brokers and promoters
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and accounting expertise
- Commercially minded with the ability to negotiate directly with bankers and promoters
- Comfortable making investment decisions under tight IPO timelines
- Robust understanding of governance and downside risk
