Tekance is hiring an experienced Structural Steel Modeler to join our growing engineering team in the Greater Kolkata Area.

We are looking for someone who understands that valuable structural steel modeling is not only about producing drawings, it is about accuracy, constructability, fabrication requirements, coordination, and delivering work that can be trusted on the shop floor and at site.

Responsibilities

- Develop accurate structural steel models from engineering and architectural drawings.
- Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Model structural steel members, connections, stairs, handrails, platforms, ladders, and miscellaneous steel.
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings independently.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, detailers, checkers, and project teams to resolve technical and detailing issues.
- Identify clashes, missing information, design discrepancies, and constructability concerns before they affect fabrication or erection.
- Raise RFIs where clarification is required.
- Ensure accuracy of member locations, levels, dimensions, connections, material specifications, and drawing information.
- Maintain high quality standards while meeting project schedules and delivery requirements.

Requirements

- Minimum 4 years of hands-on structural steel modeling experience is mandatory.




- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection requirements.
- Good understanding of steel connections, assemblies, shop drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of assigned work and deliver within deadlines.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with clients and manage team activities.

Experience working on Australian structural steel projects, Australian Standards, and Australian detailing practices is highly preferred.

Candidates who have previously delivered fabrication-ready work for Australian projects will be given preference.
