Role Description This is a full-time, in office Student Counsellor (study abroad) role based in Cannanore.
The Student
Counsellor will guide prospective students through the entire study abroad journey, including understanding their academic background, interests, and career goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and programs. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission and visa processes, coordinating documentation, and following up with students and families. The role involves responding to inquiries, maintaining student records,
liaising with partner institutions, and supporting marketing or outreach activities such as seminars and information sessions.
The Student
Counsellor will collaborate with internal teams to ensure students receive timely updates and a smooth experience from initial inquiry to post-arrival support.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide effective Student Counseling and Career Counseling tailored to individual academic and professional goals.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with students, families, and institutional partners.
- Customer Service orientation with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and building trust with diverse student populations.
- Understanding of Education systems and international study pathways, preferably with exposure to overseas higher education processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, business, or a related field.
- Prior experience in overseas education consulting, academic counseling, or student advisory roles is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools, CRM or student management systems, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple student cases, and meet timelines with attention to detail.
- Comfort working with diverse cultures and languages; local language skills in addition to English are beneficial.
