Objective To provide expert-level technical oversight, lead complex architectural migration strategies, and act as the final escalation point for critical network incidents while ensuring high availability and robust performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership &
- Deployment
- Lead large-scale network migration projects and complex deployments from conception to execution.
- Act as the ultimate technical authority and lead architect during critical cutover windows and major deployments.
- Technical Oversight &
- Maintenance Windows (MW)
- Provide expert "on-call" support during high-stakes night-time maintenance windows.
- Rigorously review, validate, and approve Method of Procedures (MOPs) submitted for high-risk network activities.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) &
- Optimization
- Conduct thorough, deep-dive RCAs for complex network outages and systemic failures.
- Design and implement long-term preventative measures, network optimizations, and resilience improvements.
- Automation &
- Mentorship
- Architect and develop Python and Ansible automation scripts to streamline provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks.
- Mentor L2 engineers, elevating team capabilities on advanced routing protocols, architectural design, and complex troubleshooting techniques.
Required Skills &
- Qualifications
- Experience: 6 to 10 years of extensive networking experience within large-scale service provider or hyper-scale enterprise environments.
- Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level mastery of MPLS-Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE), Segment Routing (SR), and high-availability design patterns.
- Advanced proficiency in core routing, switching, and carrier-grade network architecture.
- Leadership & Competencies: Strong project management mindset with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams smoothly during high-pressure night-time deployments.
Core Expectations (Across All Engineering Levels) Operational Excellence &
- Continuous Improvement
- Sustainable High Performance: Unwavering commitment to maintaining absolute network stability and uptime while successfully meeting aggressive deployment timelines.
- Shift &
- Schedule Flexibility: Readily available to support critical night-time and early-morning maintenance windows aligned with the project schedule.
- Documentation Excellence: Strict adherence to the standard that every deployment must be backed by a fully validated MOP and concluded with complete configuration audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Active participation in operational bridge calls and facilitation of seamless communication between night-shift execution units and day-shift planning teams.
