Job Purpose
Oakridge International School, Bachupally is looking for a passionate and committed Biology Teacher to join our academic team on a 6–9 month maternity cover contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven Biology lessons, supporting students' academic progress, and creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons that promote conceptual understanding, inquiry, critical thinking and scientific skills.
Teach Biology across the relevant secondary/senior secondary grades as per school requirements.
Develop lesson plans, learning resources, practical activities and assessments aligned with curriculum expectations.
Conduct laboratory activities safely and effectively.




Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
Encourage students to develop scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
Collaborate with the Biology department and wider academic team.
Participate in school events and professional development programmes.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and student-centred school culture.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology / Life Sciences / Zoology / Botany or a related discipline.
B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
2–3 years of relevant school teaching experience preferred.
Experience teaching IB, IGCSE, Cambridge or CBSE Biology will be an advantage.
Strong subject knowledge, classroom management and communication skills.
